Subfloor Leveling & Floor Prep in Denver, CO

The part of your floor you never see is the part that decides how long it lasts. Uneven subfloors cause planks to flex, separate, click and wear out early, which is why leveling and prep are included in every Colorado Floor installation.

Once the old floor is out, we check the subfloor for dips, high spots, squeaks and moisture. We fill low areas, grind or sand down high spots, secure loose areas and clean the surface so your new floor goes down flat.

Whether it's a concrete slab in a Denver basement or a wood subfloor upstairs, we prepare it to the standard your flooring manufacturer requires.

About the Service

What Our Subfloor Prep Includes

Every flooring manufacturer sets a flatness requirement for its product. Skipping prep is one of the most common reasons new floors fail, and it can void the material warranty.

We do whatever your subfloor needs so your new floor installs correctly the first time.

Flatness Check

We check the subfloor with a straightedge and level to find dips and high spots before installation.

Leveling & Grinding

We fill low areas with patch or leveling compound and grind or sand high spots on concrete and wood subfloors.

Underlayment & Moisture Barrier

We install the underlayment or vapor barrier your floor requires, especially over concrete slabs.

Secure & Squeak-Free

Loose areas of a wood subfloor are fastened down to reduce squeaks and movement.

FAQ

Subfloor Leveling Questions

How do I know if my subfloor needs leveling?

Soft spots, squeaks, visible dips or an old floor with separating seams are common signs. We check the subfloor once the old floor is removed and level it as needed.

Can you level a concrete basement floor?

Yes. We fill low spots and grind high spots on concrete slabs so LVP, laminate or engineered hardwood can be installed flat.

Is leveling an extra charge?

Subfloor prep is part of our installation. We assess the subfloor during your free estimate and include the prep your floor needs in your price.
